Release 0.14 stable

Android adds libraries on its own, from a device folder, a NAS share or a DLNA server, and the player looks and feels like Android.
November 1, 2026 • Daniele

The 0.14 series is out, through 0.14.2. As usually, one app on Linux, macOS, Windows, Android and iOS phones and tablets.

Get it from the download page. Google Play is still closed testing. Already in the Play test? Update from Play. On Arch, one pacman command from our public mirror.

Highlights

Android looks like Android. Device colors down to the system bars, haptic taps, a player that slides up over the page and away on a swipe down, a native splash and a new first run.

Android adds libraries, experimental. Same Add library as on desktop: a folder on the device, an SMB or NFS share on your NAS, or a DLNA server. Sync from the desktop still works.

Likes sync across devices. They also survive if you recreate a library. It is one step in the ongoing work on library sync across devices, which gets fuller in the next releases.

If that was not enough

  • Windows: both MSI and EXE installers have auto update now.
  • App artifacts you download are signed by a signing subkey of the same key that signs our commits: how to check.
  • Desktop: a system tray, and closing the window keeps playback going.
  • Two new themes, nucube-paper and nucube-midnight.
  • Metadata: one click re-reads the file tags of all incomplete albums.
  • A VPN that sends all traffic off the local network gets a warning instead of an empty list. Tailscale without an exit node is unaffected.

The changelog has every entry, patch by patch.

Tell us what you like and what we can improve

Use the app the way you normally listen, then tell us what you like and what we can improve, however small. Feedback now sits at the top of Settings, or use the contact page for a bug, a request, or a question about anything in this note.
